In 1980 HMV had come out with a set of 10 casettes covering rare gems from 1945 to 1975.Had heard this song for the first time on the casette & kept listening to it 50 more times.thanks for uploading it !!!!!!!

this is one of the best song of suraiya/mukesh and of its era.
to my record poet is qamar jalalabadi and not raghupat rai as said by a friend.

I had recorded this song from a late night radio program "Raymond Sangeet Smruti" (11 pm to 11:30 pm) on Vividh Bharati.. I can still hear the words of the announcer, "Ek sangeet kar the krishan dayal, aur geetkar raghupat rai, film lekh..."

naushad sahib usually called suraiya as sureeli. tho not properly trained & having guidance she sang most butiful & sweet songs in her career. its the best duet of suraiya & mukesh. both r no more with us . let their souls rest in eternal peace.
