considering its from late 70's . sippy did show style . I'm still at a loss
to understand how come this movie flopped, with star cast , songs , visuals
its better then a lot of so celled hit movies that came after it , i saw
the movie other day and I'm sure if the movie is cleaned up and released
with a hi def print would do a lot more business than many current movies

One of the finest James Bond style movies ever made in India. Excellent star cast..especally the Dashing Amitabh Bachchan looking superb being the most handsome guy in the town when the movie got released.

After giving block buster Sholay, Sippi wanted to give a new kind of multi
starrer movie and after making tobaco chewing Gabbar Singh he made a clean
saved posh villain Shahkaal. Title song gets magnetic touch of Usha Uthup's
voice.

Sadly, the film didn't do as well as it should have. It was a well made

The film flopped because it was designed for a western audience. However,
the film was released when the video boom had started and subsequently
there were few theaters playing Indian films with even fewer people wanting
to attend. The audience in India was not sophisticated enough for such a
film. Had it been released today, it would have been successful both at
home and abroad - with a bit of improvement on the storyline - it was a tad
bit unoriginal

exactly, i still remember the granduer the movie reflected, huge starcast,
awesome music and action, super thrilling sequences and fantastic
shaakal,mazhar khan. movie was much ahead of its time. i still dont

I just wanted to say that, this title song is not complete. I know from the
original movie how the title song goes and this is not the first time that
I'm discovering that they have cut a peace of the title song, and why they

Sippys are the best filmakers in India. From Sholay Shakti Shaan to Aatish
Bluffmaster. They rock. Makes the best stylish movies. Sippys, Rajiv Rai,
Feroz Khan the best and the movie Shaan is a declared BLOCKBUSTER. Its a
flop in the sense that everyone was expecting it to be another Sholay since
it was the next release of sippy bachchan combo after sholay.

Nothing wrong with the movie. But since viewers had very high expectations
and comparing this movie to/from the benchmark set by this production house

as far as I know. The film was a hit. Just not as big as Sholay. For this
film is amazing with just one flaw. The song 'jaanu meri jaan' was terribly
misplaced in the movie. When 2 of the main characters have lost their
brother at the hands of a crazy international criminal and then they are
singing a song in a bus lol. it shouldve been placed before the death scene
