Transformation of Hindi movie music to new dimension started in the second
half of 1940s - sometime in 1948 and more so in 1949; there was improvement
in quality of lyrics, accompanied by better instrumentation in composition
to suit the masses, and, obvious newness to singing. I am 1951 born but
like songs of 1940s! You are fortunate to have visited this song from
"Lahore" - it has other beautiful songs also. Thank you for the visit,

This song popped into my head because my Mum and Dad used to play it on the
radio.
Nargis ji and Karan Diwanji look so fresh and sweet. The music and lyrics
are so high class. And the acting is so natural.
Very few contemporary songs can even come close to the old gems.
