This is a delightful effort by two superb stalwarts. This strikes me as
being typical of their pairings: AB the more conservative comic foil &
Dharam, the ebullient & spontaneously youthful farceur. I have always found
their pairings & particularly their camaraderie reminiscent of Caine &
Connery. If only Western cinematic moguls had appreciated what Hindi moguls
did, their recognition would have been global. Yesudas et al, also deserve
plaudits. Thank you for a delightful post.

Charandas was a co-production of Om Prakash, S. Mohinder and two more producers. They all decided to give the music to Rajesh Roshan since he was fairly new and wanted more assignments after his success in Julie.

Kishore pushed Yesudas back to South India. Just as he did to singer Shabbir Kumar in the hope of promoting his son Amit. Well, Amit is nowhere but people still remember and love Yesudas.
