Thanks for posting, it's a beautiful song, loved it. O P Nayyar had special
chemistry with Rafiji and Ashaji, and the Singers also gave unforgetable
melodies under OPJi. Otherwise we would not have got songs which we
remember and rejoice even today:)

This song was definitely picturised -- I remember Sharmila Tagore wearing a
pink nightdress. I think it was cut out of subsequent versions of the film
because of her nightie! A lovely song indeed, OP at his best

I can't help but agree with you- I saw this film on VCD recently bought by
a friend from India- no sign of this song!!!!!! And yet the way Rafi has
sung- it evokes a memory of possible picturisation of such a song on Shammi
Kapoor's charachter in Kashmir Ki kali!!! OP Sharmila, Rafi and Asha-

Still remember the day I bought this disc at Hero Music House in Fort
Bombay sitting in the airconditioned cabin with pile of newly released
discs picking with my choices and O. P, with one of my most favourites i
picked Sawan Ki Ghata discs and this one I played the entire song even
though was in a hurry to pick through the piles..some 42 years ago...

just imagine what Rafi and OP Sahib would have continued to produce if OP
Sahib had not lost his cool on Rafi just because Rafi was a few minutes
late for a recording . Rafi had just completed a recording for SJ and was
stuck in the traffic. OP was whimsical and he took it out on a gem of a
being called Rafi. That time OP was the undisputed king commanding lakhs
for a movie which was unheard of. The result. Fans lost out and Mahendra
Kapoor emerged. Oh well que sera sera.
