One of Jagjit's earliest Ghazals- Quite rare not found on most of his
compilations. Subsequently Jagjit has become monotonous and tedious r but
this one along with Dost ban ban ke mile mujhko mitaane waale, Baat niklegi
to door talak jaayegi, Sadma to hai mujhe bhi ki tujhse juda hoon main and
the Mirza Ghalib compsositions are easily the best rendered by him- before
his descent into mediocrity which is the hall-mark of popularity and
success these days- Zeitgeist- one should say

This nicely rendered...but Mehdi HASSAN'S VERSION IS BETTER.

@lushka3000 Sorry to contradict you but I prefer this version- Mehdi
Hassan's is very typical- mushaira type rendition whereas this version by
Jagjit Singh is more melodious

@13APM Yes I agree with you. Now a days you do not get any new kind of
composition at all. To the extent that I would not buy his new albums
though I used to be his great fan.

such a great ghazal. such a beautiful singing. great music. Jagjit singh is
a real ghazal singer. he knows how to sing a ghazal my heartiest
congratulations to him for a masterpiece composition. The poet krishan
adeeb really said in ludhiana ( in a concert cinema hall) that this ghazal
infact belongs to jagjit not him. poet is infact krishan adeeb but he meant
that this ghazal is beautifully sung by jagjit singhji. my thanks to both

It just shows how great an artist Mehdi Hassan saheb is. Jagjit saheb's
version looks pedestrian compared to his version.

technically Mehdi hasans version is better but jagjit touches me more
