Awwww Shalmali your expressions...

If you wink like that right in front of my nose even on the last moment of
my life, I swear I'd die the happiest man to have ever lived!

A saving grace for you mikey/Shalmali after completely running other songs
on unplugged.

Non -Singers are ruling the bollywood industry today. Being "besura" is
'hep' and will receive much accolade. Its good to experiment, improvise but
without going off-key and sounding harsh. offlate, going off-key is
accepted as 'Jazzy'. singer aspirants no longer want the arduous journey of
learning classical before venturing into the studio. i just heard 'papon'
on youtube, and admired his ability to improvise without dishonoring the
raga based original song. i once heard shalmali live, and honestly an
unabashed 'besuri' who is protected by "vocoders" and voice shapers in
studio and her playback singing career is flying high. I have listened to
music from every country, and feel pride that indian music has the best
melody component. we should explore the immense creativity and fusion
possible without dishonoring great classics like "khoya Khoya chand" by the
great legend Mohd. Rafi ji. when audiences refine their taste, musicians
will have to rise above mediocrity to stay alive in a competitive world.
anyone today can produce their own song. freedom overspill on youtube gives
license to crap. MTV you can shoulder responsibility to uphold the richness
of indian music. i love the unplugged versions which sustains the beauty of
pure music:)
