also crossed my mind but s d burman's renditions are as usual worth
listening . i love the line ''sheetal chhaya tu dukh ke jungle mein ''.

If my memory is correct, this movie was an extravaganza by O P Ralhan - in
fact we were studying and read much about it. Please correct if I am wrong.
Being fan of Sachin Dev Burman, as a singer (it is important), I have

Wonderful tribute to Ma,as usual lyrics,emotions are superb. Rajendra was
1929 born and I believe Mata Sulochana was 1931 or 1933 born. Age really
does not and did not matter much when casting for roles.It was the calibre
and talent of the player that was of more importance:their suitability for
their respective part in the film.

The song is a very close collaboration between Majrooh and Maestro SD
Burman. One can guess the tune was composed prior to the lyrics and the
