@drmksingh yeah. very soulful. i had heard the kumar gandharva versio first

too.
MAHESH RAO on October 07, 2010
The original composition was that of Pandit Kumar Gandharva-ji and he too
was inspired by the folk singers of Malwa.
MAHESH RAO on October 07, 2010
The original composition for this Nirguni Bhajan was that of Pandit Kumar
Gandharva-ji and he too was inspired by the folk singers of Malwa. There is
an additional stanza in between : " Aage Chalo Panth Nahin Sooje, Peechhe
Dosh Lagave, Kehi Beedha Sasure Jaaoon Mori Sajani, Biraha Jor Jarave,
Vishay Ras Naach Nachaave."

Its good to see Kailaash Kher drawing upon Kumaar Gandharva. Hope the album
mentions his name. It was because he sensed it that this stuff needs to be
rejuvenated and heard that most of us listen to Nirguni bhajans today.
ashwini sahukar on June 28, 2012
In this poem or Dohe, Kabir takes the role of a young bride who says that
the town in which her beloved lives is most beautiful and she is not at all
interested in living in her parents’ house. Unfortunately, she grumbles
that in her Lover’s place, there are no Sun and Moon, none comes from there
and none is there to go there and tell him about her pangs of separation
and the deep pain undergone by her… She feels that none other than the
Preceptor can show a way out…
ashwini sahukar on June 28, 2012
She however consoles herself that her lover will come in her dream and
quench her thirst to meet him…

Great song.. Great voice.
Sandra Carli on September 02, 2012
I love this song but sometimes I'm surprised at his way of singing some
vowels like 'a' which sounds like 'ae'... so different from the way he
usually sings. Is it Hindi or Sanskrit?
Rohit Chandrachud on November 29, 2012
Would suggest everyone to please to the original Nirguni Bhajan by Pt.
Kumar Gandharva (Not taking any credit away from this version).
Sandra Carli on January 17, 2013

I don't like my native place. The lord has a city of absolute beauty where
no one comes or goes, where there's moon or sun, no water or wind. Who will
carry this message? Who will tell the lord of my pain? I can't see the path
ahead, and going back would be a shame. Oh beloved, how can I reach the
in-laws' house? Separation burns fiercely. The juice of sensuality keeps me
dancing. Without a true guru there's no one we can claim, no one to show
the way.
Ashutosh Kumar on June 17, 2013
one of my fav..\\
Pavan Mehta on August 26, 2013
Can Anybody suggest other folk hindavi songs re-done, like this one. Kabir,
Khusru etc's poetry?
GuruOnNet on September 21, 2013
See also kabir project dot org for a collection of songs sung by different
folk singers and also Pt. Kumar Gandharv with lyrics. See also the blogs
for background information as this song was apparently composed by Sant
Kabir while carrying his newly wedded wife across a river...
