They look soo cute together:), like they are completely enjoying each other's company..not just lovers, but friends as well. That's the most beautiful part.
Lovely song..hadn't heard Lata's version before..it's just as great as Kishore's:). Thanks for posting.
shirinjaan on April 28, 2008

rohanray2008 on May 14, 2008
Nice picturisation of a rainy day in probably greatest ( I had never lived there, though) city of India.
And of course, only RDB could make such a great romantic music.
narendranatht on May 21, 2008
THE most beautiful song in female voice of any kishore da's gems.indeed amitab and mausami look so good,.thks for the video
Amit shan on May 27, 2008
I didn't know that Maushami was such a natural actor. May be she is like
Kajol those days. Just a thought. By the way do you have this movie ? Will
be thankful if you upload it ! Nevertheless, thanks for such a beautiful
music !
Zayed Hussain on June 03, 2008

labai123 on June 06, 2008
Absolutely superb!!! Best of Lataji. The song is really good, I've listened to it a few times, it has that ability to grow on you even more with each time I listen to it. I've always been partial to the rain so this song is specially enjoyable.
rdj2880 on June 07, 2008
Good thing in this Video is that we get to see Old beautiful face of Bombay..which has now turned ugly and economical.
Tanvisinghvi on June 15, 2008
Holding someone's hand, walking aimlessly on Marine Drive, soaking in the rain... When did we leave all these simple pleasures behind?
ronniegoogle on July 11, 2008
I keep on coming back to listen to this song...such innocence in voice

No, the actress is not the mother of Sonali Bendre. The actress here is Moushumi Chatterjee.

Oh the subtle nuances of the couple...see how Moushmi taps the hand of
Amitabh (at 2:38) because he is walking too fast...absolutely amazing!!

A rain drenched couple, Marine drives, Bhutta and little dance- all cross
my mind at once. What a romantic song!!!!!!
peddammayi on October 20, 2008
Bombay and rain, the two go together, so painfully nostalgic
borninsep on November 15, 2008
Tears just kept flowing watching this video.
Lifez very short and relations are even shorter.Make the most of everything in life my friends.Becoz when its over, it will be just memories. We can see it but cannot touch it :(

wow.you have hit right on spot. time flies and all that remains is yaadein
Namit2007 on November 25, 2008
The best rain song ever !! Whenever it rains, I can't resist singing this to myself. I love both Lata's version as well as Rafi's version. One is very sweet and the other is melancholicly melodious
Namit2007 on December 13, 2008
I am sorry. You are right.. it is Kishore. Jumbled up comments as I was writing about Rafi on another video.

Phenominal song - The combination of Mumbai rains and a very handsome but
ever so dynamic Amitabh roaming around the major landmarks of Mumbai with
Moushmi in tow complimented by the sheer magic of Lataji's voice
complimented by .

wow BigB looks so handsome.its very soothing song sung by lathaji.thanks
guys
biasedcoin on February 01, 2009
This song was sung by Kishore Kumar also. Some liked Kishore's and some
liked Lata's better. It was RD who composed this song at two different
pitches and both are beautiful.
chaitanyajosh on March 27, 2009
I just love the picturisation of this song. South Mumbai is the best
city in the world !!! But as a song, I prefer Kishoreda's version much more
...
shanks008 on April 24, 2009
WOW, Mumbai and Amitabh bachchan. 2 of the biggest names in India. Both of them have been captured very well.
VABBKDFW on May 24, 2009
To shanks008 , Very well said, i feel the same way. Miss my days growing up
playing pitch-match at Cross-Maidan.
bigboss0101 on May 26, 2009
Why is everyone forgetting Basu Chatterjee? A good chunk of credit to this song goes to him!
VSR Boston on May 26, 2009
Wha Wha, what a legacy to leave behind, these movies captures these great
movie icons at these wonderful points in their lives. I must say Amitab
looks DROP DEAD HANDSOME in this clip.
superrkrd on May 28, 2009
the best ever rain song. what a guy RD was ! he thinks music across genres and cultures. no one can combine the western and indian classical elements this way. he has stretched lata to her wits end. example sample the notes " is bar sawan beheka hua hai " . mindblowing base and spanish guitar chords and racy rhythms. Bombay is great . filmed actually in 1972 and 73. best picturised song sequence ever.
deeaardee on June 03, 2009
beautiful song with an excellent voice modulation.one of my all time fav.
thanks for the song!!!

ssrbaqri on June 15, 2009
This is undoubtedly a great song.it trully falls under the category of songs that dont hv very fine lyrics but that is compensated by an amazing tune (oh i donno how much i love this tune) and a great singing (aah, see those ups and downs of sur, great modulations by lata)...every time i hear this, my body vibrates to the tune of this song.and lemme say that here lata sang it better than kishore(unlike many other songs including mere naina saawan bhadon where kishoreda sounds better).
VSR Boston on June 26, 2009
I do not know the english translation and do not speak the language but I
grew up hearing this song and every time it stirs my emotions deeply. If
anyone know the english translation please post. Thx.

The rain is falling down soflty My heart is burning slowly how could this
fire start in this wet season Monsoons had been here before too My saree
had gotten wet through, before too why is it that this year, My love my
heart is burning with a slow fire This time the monsoons have a sweet smell
This time the season is drunken dont know what the swift wind has been
drinking my heart is burning with a slow fire
VSR Boston on June 26, 2009
Thanks , such beautiful poetry. And I am sure that there are some of the
lyrics that theres no justified English translations
Patiraj Yadav on July 04, 2009
One of a couple of best Rain Songs from Hindi Cinema alongwith "o sajna
barkha bahar aai" from "Parakh"! The most special fact abt this song is
that it is 100% picturized in original "Rimjhim Barish" of good old days in
Mumbai! Do watch this song to have an idea when Rains used to be a funtime
for Mumbaikars & not haunting one!!! Amitabh and Moushumi strolling &
enjoying Rains with magical touch from Lata Didi in background!!!
amitrocker1987 on July 25, 2009
amitabh jee ko jara dheere dheere chalna chahiye tha zara mausmi jee kaa khayal to karte, unki height choti hai unko running karnee padh rahi hai
nice song

Me too. the carefree, wonderful times spent with childhood freinds in the
city of bombay, which was so romantic. those were the days.
WICKSTERINE on October 08, 2009
I think this whole song was shot in natural rain..if somebody could throw some light on this..would be interesting.
Inatsikap on October 10, 2009
