RK gave break to S-J who created many Gems for Non-RK films too.All songs
of SEEMA are all time classics. This one had the magical charm of Nutan at
its peak. I really wonder who inspired S-J for so many gems?

I saw 'Seema' when it released and I was just 6 years old at that time.
Yet, every scene, every song is so fresh in my mind as if they are etched
in stone! Today, 57 years later, I know the reason/s. The incredible acting
of Nutan as a wronged woman with a rebellious streak in her and not to
forget, a vitriolic temper too. The role of Balraj Sahni as the loving and
generous person who runs the home for waifs and women lent a quiet dignity
to the role. And of course the immortal songs.

continued.Shubha Khote had a dream debut in 'Seema' as Nutan's friend
and confidant. She did an excellent job. Did you know that she was the
cycling champ of Bombay state? Amiya Chakravarty's direction was too good.
My favourite song is the Lata number, "Man mohana bade jhoothe..." S-J and
Hasrat at their creative best!
