Film ''Nayi Taaleem - 1949''.
The year was 1949 & just listen to this composition of VD ... a super
special composition without even traces of classical/folk touch for which
he is remembered the most & even said to have never compromised on that
front. But in 1949 itself he composed this Latabai song solely on the soft
key pads of a Piano. It turned out to be such a delicately intertwined &
softly delivered number ... way ahead of its times !!
This modern look of VD was rarely seen & practically never seen again in my
view in the later years to come. Why he didn't compose more of such modern
compositions is a mystery in itself but this lone composition of VD bears
more weight than the later so many sole piano compositions by the other
composers.
