Lyrics of Aao Katha Sunaye Sab Ko
hum katha sunate ram sakal ghundham ki,
ye ramayan hain punay katha shri ram ki.
shlok- om shri mhaganadhipatye nam:,
om shri umamheshavarabhayy nam:
valmiki gurudev ke pad pankaj siir naay,
sumire maat sarasvati hum par hou shay.
maat-pita ki vandhna karte barmbar,
gurujan raja prajajn naman karo savikar.
hum katha sunate ram sakal gundham ki,
ye ramayan hain puny katha shri ram ki.
jambudhvipe bhrt khade aayavrate bhartvarshe,
ek nagri hain vikhyaat aaayodha naam ki,
yahi janam bhumi hain parm pujay shri ram ki,
hum katha sunate ram sakal gundham ki,
ye ramayan hain puny katha shri ram ki.
raghukul ke raja dharmatma,
chakrvarti dashrath punyaatma,
santati hetu yag karvaya,
dharm yag ka shubh phal paya.
nrup ghar janme cghaar kumara,
raghukul deep jagat adhara,
chaaro bhranto ke shub nama,
bhrt,satrughan,lakshman rama.
guru vashisht ke gurukul jake,
aalp kaal vidhya sab pake,
puran hui sikhsa,
raguvar purn kaam ki,
hum katha suante ram sakal gundham ki,
ye ramayan hain puny katha shri ram ki,
ye ramayan hain puny katha shri ram ki.
mridu savar komal bhavna,
rochak prastuti dhang,
ek ek bar kar varnann kare,
lav kush ram prashang,
vishvmithhr mahamuni raai,
tinke sang chale dauu bhai,
kaise ram tadka maari,
kaise naath ahiliya tari.
munivar vishvamithr tab,
sang le laxman ram,
siya svyambar dekhne,
phoche mithila dham.
jankpuri utsav hain bhari,
jankpuri utsav hain bhari,
apne var ka chyan karegi sita sukumari,
janakpuri utsav hain bhari.
janak raaj ka kathin pran,
suno suno sab koi,
jo tode shiv dhanush ko,
so sita pati hoyi.
ko tode shiv dhanush kathor,
sabki dhristi ram ki aur,
ram vinay gun ke avtar,
guruvar ki agya sirdhar,
shaj bhav se shiv dhanu toda,
janak suta sang nata joda.
raguvar jesa aur na koi,
sita ki samta nahi hoyi,
dau kare prajit,
kanti koti rati kam ki,
hum katha sunate ram sakal ghundham ki,
ye ramayan hain puny katha shri ram ki,
ye ramayan hain puny katha shri ram ki.
sab par sabd mohini dari,
mantr mugad bhaye nar nari,
yu din reen jaat hain bite,
lav kush ne sabke man jeete.
van gaman,sita harn,hanumat milan,
lanka dhan,ravanmaran, ayodhya punragamn.
sh vistar sab katha sunai,
raja ram bhaye ragurai,
ram raj aayo sukhdai,
sukh samridi shri ghar ghar aayi.
kal chakr ne ghtna karm mein,
aisa chakr chalaya,
ram siya ke jeevan mein phir,
ghor andhera chhaya.
avadh mein aisa, aisa ek din aaya,
niskalank sita pe prja ne,
mithya dosh lagaya,
avadh mein aisa, aisa ek din aaya.
chal di siya jab tod kar,
sab neha naate moh ke,
pashan hridhye mein,
na angare jage vidhro ke.
mamtamayi maao ke anchal bhi,
simat kar rah jaye,
gurdev gyan aur niti ke,
sagar bhi ghat kar rah gaye.
an raghukul na raghukulnayak,
koi n siya ka hua shayak.
manavta ko kho bethe jab,
sabhy nagar ke vasi,
tab sita ko hua shayak,
van ka ek sanyashi.
un rishi param udar ka,
valmiki shub naam,
sita ko aashray diya,

raghukul mein kuldep jalaye,
ram ke do sut siye na jaaye.
(shrotaghan! jo ek raja ki putri hain,)
ek raja ki puthrvadhu hain.
aur ek chakrvarti raja ki patni hain,
vahi maharani sita vanvas ke dukho mein,

apne kul ke gaurav aur savabhiman ki raksha karte hue,

dhrm praveena sati,parm kulina,
sab vidhi dhosh hina jeena dukh mein sikhati hain,
janmata haripriya lakshmi savroopa siya,
kutati hain dhan, bhoj svayam banati hain,
katin kulhadi leke lakdhiyan katti hain,
karam likhe ko par kaat nahee paatee hai,

paalatee hain bachcho ko
vo karmayoginee kee bhaati,
svaabhimaan svaavalambee sabal banatee hai.
aisee seeta maata kee

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Aao Katha Sunaye Sab Ko
We tell the tale of Ram, abode of all virtues,
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram.
Om Shri Mahaganeshaya Namah,
Om Shri Uma Maheshwarabhyam Namah.
Bowing the head at the lotus feet of Valmiki, the Guru,
We invoke Mother Saraswati to be our aid.
We offer constant reverence to our parents,
And salute the Gurus, kings, and all the people.
We tell the tale of Ram, abode of all virtues,
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram.
In Jambudvipa, Bharatkhanda, Aryavarta, Bharatvarsha,
There is a city renowned, Ayodhya by name,
This is the birthplace of the most revered Shri Ram.
We tell the tale of Ram, abode of all virtues,
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram,
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram.
The righteous king of the Raghu clan,
Chakravarti Dasharatha, a virtuous soul,
Performed a sacrifice for progeny's sake,
And found the auspicious fruit of the righteous yajna.
Four sons were born in the king's house,
The light of the Raghu clan, the support of the world,
The auspicious names of the four brothers,
Bharata, Shatrughna, Lakshmana, and Rama.
Going to Guru Vashishtha's Gurukul,
Gaining all knowledge in a short time,
Education was completed, Rama's work was fulfilled.
We tell the tale of Ram, abode of all virtues,
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram,
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram.
With a gentle voice, tender emotions, a charming presentation,
One by one, they narrate the Ram-Lava-Kusha episode,
Vishwamitra, the great sage,
With them, the two brothers went along,
How Rama killed Tataka, how the Lord saved Ahilya.
Sage Vishwamitra, with him Lakshmana and Rama,
To see Sita's Swayamvara, reached the city of Mithila.
The grand festival of Janakpur, the grand festival of Janakpur,
Sita, the beautiful one, will choose her own groom,
The grand festival of Janakpur.
The difficult vow of King Janak, listen, everyone,
Whoever breaks Shiva's bow, will be Sita's husband.
Who will break the mighty Shiva's bow, all eyes on Rama,
Rama, the embodiment of humility and virtue,
Took the Guru's command to heart,
With ease, he broke Shiva's bow, and formed a bond with Janak's daughter.
There is no one like Rama, there is no equal to Sita,
Both defeat the beauty of millions of Kamas,
We tell the tale of Ram, abode of all virtues,
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram,
All were charmed by the spell of words,
All men and women were mesmerized,
Thus days and nights passed,
Lava and Kusha won everyone's hearts.
The forest exile, Sita's abduction, Hanuman's meeting,
The burning of Lanka, Ravana's death, return to Ayodhya.
They narrated the entire story in detail,
King Rama became Raghurai,
Ram Rajya came, bringing happiness,
Happiness and prosperity filled every home.
The wheel of time, in its course, spun such a wheel,
Darkness again descended in Rama and Sita's lives.
In Awadh, such a day came,
On the pure Sita, the people falsely accused,
In Awadh, such a day came.
Sita left, breaking all ties and attachments,
Even the stone hearts, no embers of revolt ignited.
The motherly mothers' veils also shrunk,
Even the oceans of knowledge and virtue of the Gurudevs lessened.
Neither Raghukul nor Raghukul-nayak, no one helped Sita.
When the civilized city dwellers lost humanity,
Then a forest hermit helped Sita.
That most generous sage, Valmiki's auspicious name,
Gave Sita shelter and brought her to his abode.
In Raghukul, they lit the lamp,
Rama's two sons were born to Sita.
She is the daughter-in-law of a king,
And the wife of a Chakravarti king,
That same Queen Sita, in the sorrows of exile,
How she spends her days,
Protecting the honor and pride of her clan,
Without seeking help from anyone,
How she does her work herself,
She cuts wood herself from the forest,
She grinds her own mill,
And imparts the lesson of self-reliance to her children,
Now see a heart-wrenching glimpse of it.
Janak's beloved, the daughter-in-law, Dasharatha's,
A queen, she spends her days in the forest,
Those who were surrounded by servants day and night,
She hides her sadness, becoming a maid herself,
Virtuous in Dharma, supremely noble,
Free from all faults, she teaches to live in sorrow.
Mother of the world, Hari-priya, Lakshmi incarnate Sita,
She husks the grain, prepares food herself,
She takes a heavy axe and cuts wood,
She cannot cut the written fate,
It was difficult for the beautiful one to even lift flowers,
She bears the burden of a sorrowful life,
The better half of Raghuvira, she holds firm,
She fills water, does not bring tears to her eyes,
Whose life is crushed in the cycle of the people's accusations,
She protects her self-respect.
She raises her children like a karma yogini,
Self-respecting, self-reliant, and strong she becomes.
Testing such a Sita Mata, giving sorrow,
Mercy does not come even to the cruel destiny,
Oh, oh, oh, oh,
The beloved sons of that sorrowful one, we are the sons of Shri Ram,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, stars of Sita Maa's eyes,
Lava Kusha are our father's names, O father, our fortunes have awakened,
They told the Ram Katha before Rama.
This is the Ramayana, the sacred story of Shri Ram.
