This is where I have reservations. How deviant can we be in the name of
Fusion? Should we disconnect the meaning of the lyrics just because it is
more suited for intense beats?

I am personally fan of this prayer, having performed it on stage in my
school days, I know how it is sung. It opened up nicely, with a little
aggression since its a Mahishasur Mardini song, but it went straight
downhill after that.

What was Sona Mohapatra doing in it? Tere Ishq Nachaya with such a heavy
base, high bpm drumming and lights? Is the song depicts such a dreadfully
aggressive feat of love? I for one would stay away from such a insane
fanatic.

Again we go back to Mahishasur Mardini song, a conceptual shift. I am not
willing to accept such a unholy juxtaposition under the name of Fusion,
Sorry.

(1) It indeed is a bad fusion. One can not compare Aigiri Nandini Shlokas
with that of Bulle Shah both are miles apart.
(2)Carnatic Music can not be killed with one bad experiment.
(3)Just one Caranatic music composition will surpass all and that is
"Endharo Mahanubhavalu".I have yet to find a better alternative.
And about North/South part I can only say that it is a sign of not so
mature mind as human beings will find some cause to fight,be it
color,cast,religion,boundaries,money,gender etc.

There should be more such attempts which CS Pak can never even think of.
Divine is not only Sufi, there are umpteen other Divine songs in India.
Sadly its become redundant that Sufi is the only Divine music.

There is a huge genre of songs down South if only CS Ind can wake up and
come out of its North Indian shackles.

Hope they dont mix other genres like that Sona's portion which absolutely
killed the original divinity of the song. Not every song can be fusioned.

why..why? u have composed the prayers aigiri nandini in to a ishq nachaya
mixed it. .when i played at stating i really enjoyed the prayers of
padma shri aruna sairm, because since last 35 years i used to listen the
prayers every morning...then in middle u have added western music that O.K.
as we know the music have no language , but when sona sings the meaning
less words...it ruined the enter song...its again bad to hear from u

What I have been observing on Coke Studio is the extremely unimaginative
and copycat style of welding two or more disparate musical styles/lyrics
and call it fusion. Fusion is not just the ability to bring two different
styles of music into same musical notes. It is the seamless blend of the
two souls to form a new harmonious entity. What you chaps are creating are
musical abominations.
