Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Baandh Priti Phul Dor - बाँध प्रीति फूल डोर
Tie love's silken thread, a heart the thief has led,
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.
Tie love's silken thread, a heart the thief has led,
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.
Unlock the soul's gate, my precious, fated mate,
Unlock the soul's gate, my precious, fated mate,
Do not forget, do not forget,
Do not forget, do not forget.
Tie love's silken thread, a heart the thief has led,
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.
How bear the parting's sting, my soul where love does cling,
How bear the parting's sting, my soul where love does cling,
Do not be cross, do not be cross,
Do not be cross, do not be cross.
Tie love's silken thread, a heart the thief has led,
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.
Tie love's silken thread, a heart the thief has led,
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.
Unlock the soul's gate, my precious, fated mate,
Unlock the soul's gate, my precious, fated mate,
Do not forget, do not forget,
Do not forget, do not forget.
Tie love's silken thread, a heart the thief has led,
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.
How bear the parting's sting, my soul where love does cling,
How bear the parting's sting, my soul where love does cling,
Do not be cross, do not be cross,
Do not be cross, do not be cross.
Tie love's silken thread, a heart the thief has led,
Do not depart, do not depart,
Do not depart.

I have found this song in youtube today but had heard it from Radio Ceylon
in Purani Filmoon ka sangeet. It has kept me enthralled since then.As far as
its Hindi lyric is concernd I understand it fully as also other poems of
contemporary poets. The poetic expression combined with sweet music has
bestowed upon this song an aura of immortality. Thanks to the uploader for
reviving a song with real classic touch5/3/2013

The song is of course sung in Lataji's ever enchanting style, but I also
love the sample of her handwriting. Once I was thrilled to read a similarly
recorded text in Talat Mehmood's own Urdu script on YT. They and other
Indian singers were so confident that at recitals they always sang from
such notebooks; didn't need any musical score sheets. Thanks,SJ, and
thanks, Harish.

That you, SJ, and others receive my feedback with such generosity is of
course very gratifying to me, although I am scarcely conscious of writing
anything special ,only of conveying my sincere appreciation for the songs
and singers and my thankfulness to uploaders like yourself.

@crazyoldsongs I am shocked to read your comments about being shocked, since
liking and disliking is part and parcel of life,be prepared to embrace the
facts and realities of life A song is termed as relative not absolute ,the
person who has disliked the song ,must have not perceived or thought from
your point of views or his state of mind did not accept the song when he
heard .According to my personal views this song is a gem ,despite being
difficult lyrical wordings ,late sang with ease, thnx
