The scene that culminates in the song , is itself beautiful and the music
by OPN is so apt. Madhubala and Guru Dutt both are excellent. Rafi- Geeta
sing perfectly. Everything comes together so well for this song. Above all,
it is the supreme triumph of that jatka gaadi beat king OPN. Oh ! the racy
tune is out of this world. To mention another point , lest I forget, there
is a slight sliver of sadness mixed with nostalgia in this song, as if the
song wants to sink its listeners into days past.

All of the songs of this movie have this nostalgia thing with a tinge of
sadness. I dont know how OPN and Guru Dutt managed to get this aspect .The
same is also true of another movie Aar Paar again a Guru-OPN combo , but
not to the same degree. Maybe has to do with something with Guru and OPN
combo. It is as if these songs grow in value as time goes by like old wine
. Thanks Kitaabik and Youtube.
