Seeing the mill's relentless dance,
Kabir weeps, a trembling trance.
Between the stones, a grinding plight,
No wholeness spared by crushing light.

The clay speaks to the potter's hand,
"Why trample me upon this land?"
"A day will come," the earth replies,
"When I will crush you 'neath the skies."

With saints, the world's sickness fades,
A healing balm that gently pervades.
But base companions, in their sway,
Bring ceaseless suffering, night and day.

Kabir stands within the fray,
Wishing well to all, come what may.
With none he seeks a binding tie,
Nor harbors hate beneath the sky.
