kahin gaalon pe laali hai
kahin jeb khali hai
inme farak hain bade
inhe farak na pade
thode thode se meethe hain
thode thode se khatte hain
ab ek thali ke chatte batte hain
ab ek thali ke chatte batte hain
ab ek hi thaali ke chatte batte hain

Like chicks from the mother hen,
Clustered close, then scattered again,
They run and roam, a playful chase.

These are the hues of Holi's grace,
Though separate, in unity's embrace.
Colors splashed, all faces seem the same.

Some cheeks blush with rosy fire,
Others hold an empty desire.
Differences abound, a varied show,
Yet, they do not seem to know.

Some with sweetness, a gentle art,
Some with a sourness in their heart,
Now gathered, sharing the same plate,
Bound by fate, sealed by fate,
Sharing the same plate.
