diwana gaya daman se lipat
kabhi is karwat kabhi us karwat

lyrics of song Diwana Gaya Daman Se Lipat
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Diwana Gaya Daman Se Lipat - दीवाना गया दामन से लिपट
The madman clung, a whisper to my hem,
First this way, then that, a shifting dream.
The madman clung, a whisper to my hem,
First this way, then that, a shifting dream.

I urged him, "Go away, be gone, be gone,"
First this way, then that, the dance unseen.
The madman clung, a whisper to my hem,
First this way, then that, a shifting dream.
With laughter's tide, the rogue began to grow,
First this way, then that, a playful gleam.

I chided, "Laugh not, on my veil, I pray,"
First this way, then that, the turning scene.
The madman clung, a whisper to my hem,
First this way, then that, a shifting dream.
I urged him, "Go away, be gone, be gone,"
First this way, then that, the shifting scene.

The tyrant rose, unveiled my hidden face,
First this way, then that, the world between.
In this confusion, night began to fade,
First this way, then that, the world between.
The madman clung, a whisper to my hem,
First this way, then that, a shifting dream.
I urged him, "Go away, be gone, be gone,"
First this way, then that, the world between.

A truly great gem. Glad to see Hansraj Behl Ji, as always, greatly
encourage an excellent singing star, Paro Devi Ji, who was great but still
given playback after partition. Apart from great music and singer
selection, Hansraj Behl Ji has also supported playback singers as well as
struggling singing stars. Thanks for sharing.

It proves that the most productive land of the five rivers could nourish
such great talents. It will take sometime to count the great composers that
came from this part of India. Hansraj migrated from Lahore to Bombay during
partition.

Soul of this song is perfectly reflected in the composition by Behl and
Paro's powerful voice. I heard first time six decades back. Same freshness
as then. Thank you Basheer.
