maut hi bhej de ki mar hi jaye
ab na uthengi takhtiya lakho
aashiyan ek ki bijaliya lakho

Knowing sages of both worlds, generous and kind,
Their wisdom the cure for ailments of all kind.
From Your door, no solace did I find,
For this wretched soul, no remedy designed.

You gave to others, blooms and luscious fruit,
My empty pockets, thorns, a bitter loot.
I do not question Your boundless grace,
Perhaps my own failings sealed my fate.

Tell me now, which way must I now roam?
Send death to me, and let me be flown home.
No more will rise the pillars of my plight,
My nest of one, struck by a thousand lightning's might.
