Lyrics of Dulhan Marwad Ki Aaaee Chham Chham - दुल्हन मारवाड़ की, आई छम छम
dulhan marwad ki, aayi chham chham
dulho lucknow ro ji, mharo hai sanam
o mharo hai sanam, ab kayi gham
ha aa dulhan marwad ki, aayi chham chham
bande ka to nam adbul latif hai, aap ka kya ism-e-sharif hai
hay duniya kave hai rasili, mharo nam to chhabili arey wa
masha allah masha allah, chhodo palla chhodo palla
yeh kya hai, ha bor sawa ser ka
aur yeh kya hai, ha ghaghra bikaner ka
mhare sar par hai bor sawa ser ka
main ne pehna hai ghaghra bikaner ka
haye sub-han allah sub-han allah
ek bat puchhu, keih, maike se kya layi hai
aaa nakhro ro sanduk, aur kya layi hai
ha aa nazron ro banduk
dil mein kya layi hai ha aa aa mithi mithi hook
to chal bag mein sunaon tujhe kaih ku ku koyaliya ki kuk
na padosan ka hai bag bairan aa jati
jab chhedenge prem ka rag bairan aa jati
thhari mhari yeh jodi dekh ke
ussey lag jayegi ag bairan aa jati
nakhre dikhati hame lehenge wali hoor hai
kehti hai ke jao jao dilli abhi door hai
laj manne ave hai, to mharo kei qasoor hai
dulhan marwad ki, aayi chham chham
dulho lucknow ro ji, mharo hai sanam
ahoo aha ahoo aha ahoo aha
ahoo aha ahoo aha ahoo aha
dulhan hai punjab ki, wah bhai wah
dulha hai gujrat da, chan varrga
hoy chan varrga, hoy shawa sadqe
dulhan hai punjab ki, wah bhai wah
o gori gujrat ka main chhokro

kem chhe ho oh saru chhe, su chhe

dil mera khatke jawani teri hans di
ho ke main diwani tere pichhe piche nach di
o chan ve aaja tu mere o chan ve aaja
tu mere mere o chan ve aaja
pichho pichho aaoon jahan jaoojo
ankhiyan milane kahan aoojo hay
tali de thhalle shawa tali de thhalle oye hoy

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Dulhan Marwad Ki Aaaee Chham Chham - दुल्हन मारवाड़ की, आई छम छम
The bride of Marwar, arrives with a chime,
The groom from Lucknow, oh, my love sublime.
He is mine, my love, no sorrow to claim,
Ah, the bride of Marwar, arrives with a chime.
The servant is called Abdul Latif, it’s true,
And what is your honored name, I beseech you?
The world whispers of sweetness, they say,
But my name is Chhabili, come what may!
Mashallah, Mashallah, release your hold,
What of this, a headpiece of vast untold?
And what of this, I now implore?
The Bikaner skirt, I now adore.
Upon my head rests a weighty crown,
I wear a Bikaner skirt, renowned.
Subhanallah, Subhanallah, a question I pose,
From your home, what treasures do you expose?
Ah, a chest of jewels you bring,
And what more do these treasures swing?
Ah, a gun for the gaze of the eye.
What do you bear in your heart, oh, a sweet, longing call?
Then go, I will sing you a cuckoo's call.
The neighbor's garden, a place of dread,
When we sing love’s tune, there, hatred is bred.
Seeing this union, ours for all to see,
They will burn with envy, yes, you and me.
Seeing this union, ours for all to see,
They will burn with envy, yes, you and me.
She flaunts her grace, a celestial light,
Says, "Go now, Delhi is still out of sight."
If shyness arrives, what fault is mine?
The bride of Marwar, arrives with a chime,
The groom from Lucknow, oh, my love sublime.
Aho aha aho aha aho aha
Aho aha aho aha aho aha
The bride from Punjab, ah, bravo, so grand,
The groom from Gujarat, moon-like, in the land.
Like the moon, oh, and bravo, what joy does it bring,
The bride from Punjab, ah, bravo, singing!
I am a Gujarati boy, it is true,
And I've brought you a tray for you.
How much? oh, it is all right, what is it?
One, two, three, four, five, six, move, go away!
My heart skips a beat, your youth takes the lead,
Becoming your devotee, I dance indeed.
Oh Moon, come to my side, oh Moon, come now,
Come closer and closer, oh Moon, anyhow.
Follow, follow, where I may roam,
Where should I meet your eyes and come home?
Clap your hands with me, bravo, clap hands with me,
Ah, what should I say, for all to see?
Oh Moon, the song of Punjab I sing.
The car has come, the car has come from Narwal,
I winked in my sister-in-law's car, in all.
The car has come, the car has come from Narwal,
I winked in my sister-in-law's car, in all.
I will die of love if I stay far, far,
Having made me crazy, saying all that you are.
Whatever you say, I will say it, near and far,
The bride from Punjab, ah, bravo, so grand,
The groom from Gujarat, moon-like, in the land.
The groom from Lucknow, oh, my love sublime.

Hey, nice song and decent translations. Except that "Daali de thalle" means
under the boughs, and not "you handsome man". Also, the Punjabi folk song,
evidently, says "the train is coming from Narowal, and its lighting a fire
in the old man's beard". That said, I can see why it was translated the way
it was. It makes no sense, except that Narowal in a town close to Sialkot,
and this song was popular in the 1930s.
