Hello Yuan & thank you. In an interview, Shankar was once asked "What's the difference between Lata & Sharda?". His said "Absolutely nothing. Lata sings for money and so does Sharda". Sharda had a horrible "tinny & screeching" voice that could never hold on to a note. She never made it big or even small but inherited billions of rupees left by Shankar for her to enjoy. Shankar didn't have any children and his wife had died of cancer. Guess, he paid Sharda more than he ever paid Lata. LOL

RK did not. After Jaikshans death in 1971, RK was done with the duo. Cancelled SJ on Bobby and gave the music department to Laxmikant Pyarelal. Last SJ hit song was in Andaz "Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana" penned by Hasrat and composed by Jaikishan. After Jai, there were no hit songs of Shankar until "Chal Sanyasi Mandir Mein" from Sanyasi 1976. Five years after Jai's death! When the duo worked together, most Binaca Geet Mala toppers and hits were Jaikishan compositions. Do your research!

Headlines are made to fool "Fools" like you. OP showed his liking for a Shankar song(jiya beqarar hai) way after Shankar's death. Both were illiterates. Neither of them could read music notes. So who could label Shankar as "The" Music Director? Read up! As I have once again described you in the third para.

Hello Nairji, Hope you are doing well. Shankar being the best MD, is a matter of opinion and if he was, how come he faded away right after Jaikishans demise. I do know what happened. I did not spread any rumor about his wife. Just stated some facts about Shankar Jaikshan that have been swept under the rug. Did you know that when Shankar Jaikishan reached heights, they would not let their Guru's Husnlal & Bhagatram enter the studios that they themselves would be present in. How sad.

Sirji, Greetings.Sir they didn't forget Husnlal & Bhagatram. They turned their backs on them. How shrewd? Shankar would bar them from entering any studio where he would be present. Ram Gunguly used to arrange music at Prithvi Theatres for stage shows.Later gave excellent music not only in Aag but also in Sangam, Saaya & Gawaiyya. In Gawaiyya he had Talat Mahmood playback for 1940's actor/singer Surendranath.Talat seemed to be Ramji's ultimate pick in male singers. A excellent choice. Regards.
