don't know about India but in Bangladesh it was a blockbuster. Especially b/c our very own Babita was working in another industry and honour which was only meant for her. B/c she was a megastar of Bengali cinema and the only actress who had the opportunity to work with Stayajit Ray in award winning film Oshonir Shonket.

I prefer waheed Murad over him. he was the man born with incredible looks. Nadeem was good. And of course I am equally proud of Babita (the actress with Nadeem). One of our greatest talents from Bengal and the only actress who worked with the multi talented Satyajit Ray in Oshonir Shonket.

@taru570 way years back there were rumors of cutting Nadeem's work in the
movie like they did with Muhammed Ali in Manooj Kumar's Clerk, don't see
the movie yet but Nadeem looks in his prime in this song the heroine seems
fails to match his charm, if the rumors of cutting Nadeem's scene were true
than the makers of this film were wholly solely responsible for the film
failure at box office.
