To humble his pride, Hari did descend,
As Vamana, his purpose to extend.
Three steps of land, from Bali he sought,

Shukra, the guru, raised a plea,
To break the vow, to set Bali free.
With a single straw, an eye was pricked,
The guru's vision, quickly tricked.
Vamana grew, in immense stride,
Touching the heavens, with nothing to hide.
The first step took the earth below,
The second, the sky's radiant glow.
Bali, with the third, to the underworld sent,
From heaven’s embrace, his journey bent.
