Lyrics of Hui Shaam Unakaa Kayaal Aa Gayaa - हुई शाम उन का ख़याल आ गया
hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya, hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya
vahi zindagi ka saval aa gaya, vahi zindagi ka saval aa gaya
hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya, hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya
abhi tak to hotho pe tha tabassum kaa ek silasila
bahut shadama the ham unako bhulakar
achanak ye kya ho gaya
ki chehare pe rag-e-malal aa gaya
ki chehare pe rag-e-malal aa gaya
hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya, hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya
hame to yahi tha gurur gam-e-yaar hai ham se dur
vahi gam jise hamane kis-kis jatan se
nikaala tha is dil se dur
vo chalakar qayamat ki chal aa gaya
vo chalakar qayamat ki chal aa gaya
hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya, hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya
vahi zindagi ka saval aa gaya, vahi zindagi ka saval aa gaya
hui shaam un ka khayal aa gaya
vahi zindagi ka saval aa gaya, vahi zindagi ka saval aa gaya

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Hui Shaam Unakaa Kayaal Aa Gayaa - हुई शाम उन का ख़याल आ गया
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom,
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom.
The question of my life, a shadowed room,
The question of my life, a shadowed room.
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom,
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom.
A string of smiles upon my lips did play,
We reveled, free, and banished them away.
What sudden shift, this unexpected art?
Upon my face, sorrow’s painted start,
Upon my face, sorrow’s painted start.
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom,
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom.
We held the pride that their sorrow was a star
Now the sorrow that we did remove from our heart
Was the one that came to us from afar
It has arrived with the steps of judgement, they fall,
It has arrived with the steps of judgement, they fall.
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom,
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom.
The question of my life, a shadowed room,
The question of my life, a shadowed room.
As twilight bled, their thought did bloom.

With all due respect, I'm surprised that some of the commenters seem to
think that once Rafi Sahab sings a song, no one should be allowed to sing
it in any way, other than the exact and precise way that he sang the song.
Javed Bhai respects Rafi greatly and he is paying tribute with musical
talents and qualities of his own. Sangeeta Nerurkar has done a magnificent
job singing Saigal songs and she is every bit as good as him, yet her voice
is female. What's wrong with that?

Excellent! Very good pronounciation of words very much like Rafi. Very good
stay in "laye" and "riday" and livelyhood/romantic-voice. I am very
impressed as a Rafi's all time admirer and singer. Keep the good work up.

Nudism has taken over bollywood and the art of yore has disappeared. But the bollywood of 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s will keep ruling the hearts. Not to mention the cellestial voice of great Muhammad Rafi.

I think one must appreciate the good qualities of Javid Bhai's singing on
its own merits. Critique him if he is "besura" or if he misses a note
somewhere. That would be constructive. But to dismiss him because he is not
Rafi Sahab is absurd. No one can sing exactly and precisely like another
person. Would you criticise Rafi Sahab if he were to sing a song sung by
Pankaj Mullick, just because their voices are different and their
interpretation of emotion and expression would be different.?
