Lyrics of Jis Din Se Maine Tumako Dekhaa Hai - जिस दिन से मैंने तुमको देखा है
jis din se maine tumko dekhaa hai
is dil me ik sapna saa jaga hai
ijaazat ho to sunaa dun
jis din se maine tumko dekhaa hai
is dil me ik sapna saa jaga hai
ijaazat ho to sunaa dun
is dil ne jabse tumako paayaa hai
kuchh chori-chori maine bhi socha hai
agar ijaazat ho to bataa dun
agar ijaazat ho to bataa dun
shokhi hai nazaqat hai, nazro me sharaarat hai
aisa bhi sharamana kyaa, kah do ki mohabbat hai
kahane ki zarurat kyaa, baato ki haqiqat kya
chhalke na nigaaho se, aisi bhi muhabbat kya
kuchh khoyaa-khoyaa dil bhi rahta hai
kuchh chori-chori maine bhi dekhaa hai
agar ijaazat ho to bataa dun
ijaazat ho to sunaa dun
julfon ko sanwara bhi, chehre ko nikhara bhi
ab to de do jaane jaa baanho ka sahara bhi
masti ka jamana bhi, khushiyon ka khazana bhi
paya jo tumhe paya jeene ka bahana bhi
duniya kitni rangin duniya hai
is dil me ek sapna sa jaga hai
ijaazat ho to sunaa dun
agar ijaazat ho to bataa dun
dil ko naa sambhaalun to, sine se lagaa lun to
hotho ki jo laali hai, usako mai churaa lun to
yun nazare na daalo tum, ab dil ko sambhaalo tum
dekhe na hame duniyaa, sine me chhupaa lo tum
na jaane mujhko dar kyo lagata hai
kuchh chori-chori maine bhi dekhaa hai
agar ijaazat ho to bataa dun
jis din se maine tumko dekhaa hai
is dil me ik sapna saa jaga hai
ijaazat ho to sunaa dun

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Jis Din Se Maine Tumako Dekhaa Hai - जिस दिन से मैंने तुमको देखा है
From the day my gaze first met your light,
A dream, a sunrise, bloomed within my heart.
If you permit, I'll speak the words that start,
From the day my gaze first met your light.
A dream, a sunrise, bloomed within my heart.
If you permit, I’ll speak the words that start.
Since this heart has known your tender grace,
Secrets I've harbored, in a hidden space.
If you permit, then let me now impart,
If you permit, then let me now impart.
Mischief dances in your eyes' embrace,
A subtle charm, a delicate space.
Why blush so deeply, veiled in sweet pretence?
Whisper the truth, declare your love's defense.
What need of words when hearts begin to yearn?
What truth in talk when burning passions burn?
If love overflows, a visible tide,
What use is love that hides deep inside?
A heart bewildered, lost in reverie,
Secrets I've harbored, wild and free.
If you permit, then let me now impart,
If you permit, I’ll speak the words that start.
Your tresses adorned, your face alight,
Now, my beloved, grant me your arms' might.
A time of joy, a world of sweet delight,
Find in your arms, my reason, my light.
The world unfolds in colors yet untold,
A dream, a sunrise, brave and bold.
If you permit, I'll speak the words that start,
If you permit, then let me now impart.
Should I lose control, embrace you near,
And steal the red that paints your lips so dear?
Do not look at me with such a piercing gaze,
Now restrain your heart in hidden ways.
Lest the world should see, and shadows fall,
Hide me in your heart, beyond recall.
A fear I hold, I cannot quite define,
Secrets I've harbored, yours and mine.
If you permit, then let me now impart,
From the day my gaze first met your light,
A dream, a sunrise, bloomed within my heart.
If you permit, I’ll speak the words that start,

Jis din se maine tumko dekha hai. Beautiful song by Rafi Sahib & Asha
Jee but unfortunately this melodius song was not included in the film.
Music lovers shouldn't have been deceived like this way. I don't know what
was the reason behind this, whether it was the Editing department or Censor
Board, whoever was responsible, were very dishonest towards hindi film
music lovers. If picturisation was done I request then this song must be
included even now in the original version and released for the merriment &
utmost satisfaction of music lovers & cinegoers.

I could keep going. But to conclude, during the last 15 seconds, the skipping sound of the strings keeps you floating. The happy mood in this duet is in stark contrast to the sorrow projected in that other gorgeous Madan Mohan duet by Rafi and Asha in Aakhri Dao... 'Humsafar Saath Apna Chhod Chale.' What I admire about MM is that he could cover a wide range with equal effectiveness. He normally used sitar for the interludes, but here he employs the western strings and does a great job.

For instance, this song is a Madan Mohan composition. I could never have
guessed that. Secondly, this is from a movie with Amitabh Bachchan in it.
The movie is called “Parwana” (1971). Thirdly, Amitabh Bachchan is not the
hero of this movie , rather, he is the villain. Navin Nischol ( then a
bigger name thanks to the success of “Sawan Bhadon” ) played the
hero.Written by Kaifi Azmi ...
And last but not the least Prabhat Sinha ji ' s voice is wonderful ...

I used to listen to this song and loved it when the movie first released in very early 1970s, and after almost 40years it still sounds just as fresh and outstanding. Truely a masterpiece of a song created by the genius Madan Mohan and brilliantly sung by the God of singing Rafi sahab..and Ashaji.
