My Ram, you are the Saint's and the Saint is yours,
Your servants fear no earthly mire,
Death's shadow cannot touch them near.

Those dyed in Your own radiant hue, O Lord,
Their birth and death, their suffering cease to be.
Your pardons none can erase,
The solace of the True Guru's decree.
In the Name's meditation, they find the fruit of joy,
And worship You in every hour.
In Your embrace, in Your shelter, they abide,
Subduing the five demons' power.

I know not wisdom, nor meditation, nor the deeds of good,
Nor do I know Your true, profound essence.
Yet, the greatest of all, is Satguru Nanak,
Who in this age, has shielded my existence.
