Vrinda or Tulsi was very pious woman who use to worship Lord Shiva, Some
believe she worshiped Lord Vishnu, she got married to demon Jaladhar who
conquered all three worlds, Jalandhar was not even getting defeated by lord
shiva since his wife Chastity was supporting him although he was demon,
Lord Shiva had to act according to his level, so finally Lord Vishnu
changes appearance and become her husband to rob her of her modesty so the
protection to her husband is over and he gets killed.

Yes forget to tell you that Jalandhar attacked Mount Kailash , the place of
Lord Shiva in order to take away Goddess Parvati. Some say in Mahabharata
may be Lord Vishnu as Krishna can be justified for killing Karna or
