Kai Baar Yun Hi Dekha Hai - कई बार यूँ ही देखा है
Lyrics of Kai Baar Yun Hi Dekha Hai - कई बार यूँ ही देखा है
kayi baar yu hi dekha hai
ye jo man ki sima rekha hai, man todne lagta hai
anjaani pyaas ke pichhe
anjaani aas ke pichhe, man daudne lagta hai

raaho me, raaho me, jivan ki raaho me
jo khile hai phul phul muskura ke
kaun sa phul chura ke, rakh lu man me saja ke
kayi baar yu hi dekha hai
ye jo man ki sima rekha hai, man todne lagta hai
anjaani pyaas ke pichhe
anjaani aas ke pichhe, man daudne lagta hai

jaanu na, jaanu na, ulajhan ye jaanu na
sulajhaau kaise kuchh samajh na paau
kisko mit banaau, kiski prit bhulaau
kayi baar yu hi dekha hai
ye jo man ki sima rekha hai, man todne lagta hai
anjaani pyaas ke pichhe
anjaani aas ke pichhe, man daudne lagta hai
lyrics of song Kai Baar Yun Hi Dekha Hai
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Kai Baar Yun Hi Dekha Hai - कई बार यूँ ही देखा है
Often I've seen it so,
This line of the heart's own hold, it starts to break, you know.
Behind a thirst unknown,
Behind a hope unsown, the soul begins to flow.

On pathways, on life's own trails,
The flowers bloom and smile in gales.
Which bloom to steal and keep,
To decorate the soul so deep?
Often I've seen it so,
This line of the heart's own hold, it starts to break, you know.
Behind a thirst unknown,
Behind a hope unsown, the soul begins to flow.

I don't know, I don't know, this tangle I don't know,
How to unravel, I can't find the way to go.
Whom to call my friend, whose love to amend,
Often I've seen it so,
This line of the heart's own hold, it starts to break, you know.
Behind a thirst unknown,
Behind a hope unsown, the soul begins to flow.

Salilda's genius brought forth hitherto unexplored melodic angles from the
sweetest of voices-Mukesh; this is almost intoxicating..the melody/voice
haunts and envelops the conscious and sub-conscious! Yogesh saaab-take a
bow for the most profound lyrics. Man thodne lagtha hain..fantastic one
liner exposing/explaining all too human frailties at every turn of life!

I have not even seen this era in Mumbai, I was born in 1988, even then these movies by Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee create the strongest bouts of nostalgia I have known, perhaps it is because my parents belonged to this era and I was exposed to these movies as a small child, that I feel I have lived it. This movie and Rajnigandha are my favorites.

@raveya98 i agree with you -salil sahab was a great , great composer but
his work and reputation suffered as it lacked variety - how and why ? he
couldn't look beyond lata mangeshkarand -her singing is great, truly so,
but lacks variety.

I wonder whether there is any other better back ground song than this
one brilliantly composed by one and only Salil Chowdhery,
magnificently sung by late Mukesh and written splendidly by Yogesh.

Undoubtedly a graet composer. His songs had a harmony which was very
unique. Western classical music style adapted in Indian style. He also
introduced the genre of protest songs in Bengali. Kudos
