Last night, a rendezvous with Life, did grace,
Last night, a rendezvous with Life, took place.
My lips they trembled, yet, the words took flight,
Last night, a rendezvous with Life, in night.

A beauty stood, a form of doomsday's art,
A dream revealed, a truth within the heart.
The face, a rose, its hues in soft display,
The eyes, the same, love's message did convey.
The tresses, shadows of an evening's haze,
The eyes, those eyes, where lies of wine did blaze.
For a while, a solace to my soul's deep cries,
My lips they trembled, yet, the words did rise,
Last night, a rendezvous with Life, did grace.

I saw her then, her cheek with tear did gleam,
By God, her heart, felt sorrow's fading dream.
Her hopes, a treasure, plundered, overthrown,
Her lips, they quivered, stories left unknown.
Thorns pierced her, in a sighing, hopeful plea,
Yet still, she bathed in loyalty's decree.
For a moment, the world's harsh spinning ceased,
My lips they trembled, yet, the words released,
Last night, a rendezvous with Life, did grace.

O my soul of love, my poetry's own light,
My heart refuses, you're lost to the night.
Though despair remains, my heart still holds a gleam,
I feel you near, within a waking dream.
How shall I soothe, this restless heart's despair?
How bring again, the springtime I did share?
With the heart's plight, a cruel ambush laid,
My lips they trembled, yet, the words conveyed,
