Lyrics of Khaamosh Nigaahe Ye Sunaati Hai Kahani - ख़ामोश निगाहें ये सुनाती हैं कहानी
khamosh nigahe ye sunati hai kahani
khamosh nigahe ye sunati hai kahani
lo aaj chali thokre khane ko jawani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe

ye man liya panchi
ye man liya kat liye par hai kisi ne
par dil ki kahani to hai piya ko sunani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe
harsu hai andhera to diya ek bhi jale kyon
phuti hui kismat ko hai ab thokre khani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe

hai rat suhani diye jalte hai hazaro
hai rat suhani diye jalte hai hazaro
hasrat ke andhere se bani aaj diwani aj diwani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe
shayad ye tere ujde hue dil ki hai tasavir
pani ki ravani me chirago ki ravani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe

ghar bar ujada teri furqat me junu se
sine se laga rakhi hai ek teri nishani ek teri nishani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe
bazar me dhundha tujhe galiyon me pukara
afasos kisi ne na suni aur na mani aur na mani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe

din-rat tujhe dhoondh rahi aye
din-rat tujhe dhoondh rahi hai meri ankhen
jayenge jaha le chale ashko ki ravani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe
takdir dar-e-yar pe akhir mujhe layi
ha takdir dar-e-yar pe akhir mujhe layi
sun dil ki kahani meri ankho ki zubani
khamosh nigahe khamosh nigahe
lyrics of song Khaamosh Nigaahe Ye Sunaati Hai Kahani
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Khaamosh Nigaahe Ye Sunaati Hai Kahani - ख़ामोश निगाहें ये सुनाती हैं कहानी
Silent eyes, a tale unfold,
Silent eyes, a story told,
Youth departs to stumble, cold,
Silent eyes, forever bold.

Though the bird's wings, they did sever,
Though the cage confines forever,
Still the heart's tale, to the beloved,
Silent eyes, a love endeavored.
Darkness reigns on every side,
Yet no single lamp is lit to guide,
Fate's shattered shards, now collide,
Silent eyes, where sorrows hide.

The night is sweet, a thousand lamps alight,
The night is sweet, a beacon bright,
Desire's shadows, now in flight,
Silent eyes, embrace the night.
Perhaps a portrait of your heart,
A ruined soul, a world apart,
In flowing water, flames depart,
Silent eyes, a fading art.

Home and hearth, in madness cast aside,
Home and hearth, in passion denied,
A memory, held close inside,
Silent eyes, where truths reside.
The market searched, the streets I've cried,
Alas, no ear, no heart replied,
Silent eyes, where tears preside.

Day and night, your face I seek,
Day and night, the words I speak,
Where tears will flow, the heart is weak,
Silent eyes, the words they speak.
Fate, at last, has brought me near,
Fate, at last, has banished fear,
Hear the heart's tale, through my tear,
Silent eyes, the soul to hear.

Really great upload. But I like the Zeenat Begum and Shamshad Begum songs
more and Ragini is great. Somehow she reminds me of Munawar Sultana, who
was the heroine of the famous Babul (1950) with Dilip Kumar and Nargis.
Munawar Sultana is also one of my favourites.

Thank you for this tribute to my father Pandit Shiv Dayal Batish. It is so
wonderful to see a burst of interest in his music career. He spent the last
30 years of his life writing and composing some of the most beautiful and
and cutting edge songs fusing the ragas of South India with the North
Indian singing style. I've also made a Facebook page for him. I hope you
and your listeners will join. Best wishes, Ashwin Batish

This is a song which I heard as a teenager. I have loved the song since
then. Batish Sahib's vice is so sweet, melodious and enchanting with
haunting overtones. I am very grateful to you ,Mr.Ashwin Batish, for having
given music lovers a chance to hear a great voice from the heyday of good
music. Can you bring out a CD of your father's songs?
