Lyrics of Khuli Hai Ankh Magar Khwab Hai Wahi -
khuli hai khuli hai aankh magar
khwab hai wahi ka wahi khwab hai wahi ka wahi
khwab hai wahi ka wahi ye talabgar hai mujhe
nind ud kar na gayi nind ud kar na gayi
khwab hai wahi ka wahi
ye wo sahar hai ye wo sahar hai
sitaro me jikar tha jiska nahi hai chand magar
chalak padi hai chalak padi hai
khushi banke mere nagmo me
ye wo sahar hai ye wo sahar hai
sitaro me jikar tha jiska nahi hai chand magar
chalak padi hai chalak padi hai

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Khuli Hai Ankh Magar Khwab Hai Wahi -
Eyes open wide, yet, still,
the dream remains, the same, the same.
A yearning soul, I feel it still,
sleep escapes, it will not tame.
The dream, still, the same.
This is the dawn, this is the dawn,
where stars once lived, though moon is gone,
yet, near, a moon-like presence gleams,
the dream, still, the same.
Spring has arrived, spring has arrived,
they say, in gardens, bloom revived.
When did they come, we failed to know?
The dream, still, the same.
It spills, it spills,
as joy within my songs takes hold,
the words unspoken, on my lips,
never said, never told.
The dream, still, the same.
the dream remains, the same, the same.
A yearning soul, I feel it still,
sleep escapes, it will not tame.
The dream, still, the same.
This is the dawn, this is the dawn,
where stars once lived, though moon is gone,
yet, near, a moon-like presence gleams,
the dream, still, the same.
Spring has arrived, spring has arrived,
they say, in gardens, bloom revived.
When did they come, we failed to know?
The dream, still, the same.
It spills, it spills,
as joy within my songs takes hold,
the words unspoken, on my lips,
never said, never told.
The dream, still, the same.

You are right, it is really unfortunate that great composers like S D
Burman (in this song) and Madanmohan (in the song "tum meri rakho laaj
hari" from Dekh Kabira Roya) composed such beautiful songs and then
destroyed them completely and irreparably by adding intolerable "comedy"
elements in the songs. Are there no audio versions of these two songs
without the vandalistic comedy elements in them?
