Lyrics of Lag Ja Gale Ki Phir Ye Hasin Raat Ho Na Ho - लग जा गले कि फिर ये हसीं रात हो ना हो
lag ja gale ki phir ye hasin raat ho na ho
shaayad phir is janam men mulaaqaat ho na ho
lag jaa gale se ...

ham ko mili hain aaj, ye ghadiyaan nasib se
ji bhar ke dekh lijiye ham ko qarib se
phir aap ke nasib men ye baat ho na ho
phir is janam men mulaaqaat ho na ho
lag ja gale ki phir ye hasin raat ho na ho

paas aaiye ki ham nahin aaenge baar-baar
baahen gale men daal ke ham ro le zaar-zaar
aankhon se phir ye pyaar ki barasaat ho na ho
shaayad phir is janam men mulaaqaat ho na ho

lag ja gale ki phir ye hassin raat ho na ho
shaayad phir is janam men mulaaqaat ho na ho
lag ja gale ki phir ye hassin raat ho na ho

This is final love-song. She is expressing her fear, lest this may be the
last meeting of our life-time. Intense love, separation, devotion in one
song. The song translates something like this, "Come on embrace me. We may
not have another night of meeting. We may not meet again in this life. We
may never get another great night. Come on hug me, oh my love. We got only
few moments with great luck. Let us see each other from closeness, we may
not have luck to see each other so closely. We not have another meeting in
this life, come on hug me closer. Please come closer, I will not come again
and again, put your arms around my neck and let us cry, showering our tears
like a monsoon cloud. We may not get another beautiful night in this
life-time..." Enjoy! ~Pal Inder Singh Chahal, San Jose, California.

Embrace / hug me for who knows if this beautiful night will ever come again
(in this lifetime).
Maybe, in this life, we may or may not meet again.

I have been given today, this time, through / by destiny.
Since god controls destiny; we are fortunate to have these few moments that
god has granted us.

To your hearts content see me (get to know me) closely.
(Implying they might never be together again.)
Who knows, if your destiny, may present this situation again.
Maybe, in this life, we may or may not meet again.

Come closer to me, as I will not be able to come to you every time.
Put your arms around me (Hug) and let us cry thousands of times.
(Alternatively, cry our hearts out.)Who knows, if our eyes will ever see
these tears of love again.

Legend is that when the song was heard by producer-director Raj Khosla
first time, he didn't like it at all and wanted to drop it. But Music
Director Madan Mohan did not want this golden piece to be wasted. Khosla
had forgotten it completely. Then one day, while together on the sets of
the film, Manoj Kumar, the Hero of movie, purposely stated singing it in
front of Mr. Khosla. Raj Khosla, astonished, inquired with Manoj Kumar, as
to whose composition was it of such a beautiful melody. And Manoj reminded
him that he had, on its first listening, had rejected it. The song was
hurriedly picturised and went on to become a great hit.
