Of a mother's worth, a sacred, beating heart.
One night, his mother, thirsty in her sleep,
Asked for water, secrets to keep.
He brought the water, silent, still,
Finding her slumbering, against his will.

He chose not to awaken her, standing there,
Until the dawn, and her waking stare.
"Since when, my son, have you been here?" she cried,
"Since you asked for water," he gently replied.
Seeing his service, her heart took flight,
She kissed his brow, bathed him in light.
With love, she blessed him, her tender hand,
Bestowing the name, across the land,
Mother's prayers, a guiding star,
Never to wound her heart, that's what you are.
