o apno ke hote huye man me basi tanhai
ho aansu bana ke khushi aankho me maine barsayi
ho khushiyo ko rote rote duniya me ab to mera ji ghabraya

o baras gaye re sawan dariya bhi josh me aaye
ho phul bhi khilne lage kaliyo ke man muskaye
ho suni rahi ek dali uspe to ab tak koi phul na aaya

o jine ko ji na chahe maangu to maut na aaye
ho saanso ke chalne ko to jivan kaha nahi jaye
ho dard basa ke dil me mera nasib mujhko kaha pe laya

My life, a useless thing, it seems,
Like shadow cast by barren trees.

Though kin surround, a loneliness resides,
My eyes released joy, in tearful tides.
And in this world, where laughter weeps, my spirit now retreats.

The rainy season poured, rivers surged with might,
And blossoms bloomed, with buds in sunlit light.
Yet on one branch, a lonely space, no flower has yet appeared.

To live, I lack the will, to die, no release descends,
This breath, they call it life, but it transcends.
This pain I hold, my fate, to what dark place it steers.
