Lyrics of Mubaarakabaad Dene Ko, Khushiyon Ke Chaand Muskuraye Re - मुबारकबाद देने को खुशियों के चाँद मुस्कुराये रे
mubarakabad dene ko hawa bago se aai hai
bahare sari duniya ki wo apane sath lai hai
khushiyo ke chand muskuraye re o
khushiyo ke chand muskuraye re
dekho mast zamane aaye re haay re
khushiyo ke chand muskuraye re
nashili baharo me dil kho raha hai
dil kho raha hai
nigaho se matalab ada ho raha hai
nigaho se matalab ada ho raha hai
ada ho raha hai
hotho pe baat dil ki aaye re o o o
hotho pe baat dil ki aaye re o o o
dekho mast zamane aaye re haay re
khushiyo ke chand muskuraye re
khushi pyar ban ke jhuki ja rahi hai
jhuki ja rahi hai
mohabbat ki mahafil luti ja rahi hai
mohabbat ki mahafil luti ja rahi hai
luti ja rahi hai
aankho me raat jhume jaye re
o aankho me raat jhume jaye re
dekho mast zamane aaye re haay re
khushiyo ke chand muskuraye re
muhabbat ka inape asar ho gaya hai
asar ho gayaa hai
udhar ho chuka hai idhar ho raha hai
udhar ho chuka hai idhar ho raha hai
idhar ho raha hai
inase na aaj raha jaye re
inase na aaj raha jaye re
dekho mast zamaane aaye re haay re

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Mubaarakabaad Dene Ko, Khushiyon Ke Chaand Muskuraye Re - मुबारकबाद देने को खुशियों के चाँद मुस्कुराये रे
The wind, a messenger from gardens fair, descends,
Bearing spring's embrace, the world it transcends.
The moon of joy now smiles, a radiant gleam,
The moon of joy now smiles, a waking dream.
Behold, the joyous times have arrived, oh, so near,
The moon of joy now smiles, banishing fear.
In intoxicating springs, the heart takes flight,
The heart takes flight.
From eyes, a meaning deep, a guiding light,
A guiding light.
The lips now speak the heart's unspoken plea,
The lips now speak the heart's unspoken plea,
Behold, the joyous times have arrived, oh, so near,
The moon of joy now smiles, banishing fear.
Joy, transformed to love, now gently bows,
Now gently bows.
Love's gathering, now bountifully bestows,
Bountifully bestows.
Within the eyes, the night begins to sway,
Within the eyes, the night begins to sway,
Behold, the joyous times have arrived, oh, so near,
The moon of joy now smiles, banishing fear.
Love's touch upon them, a potent art,
A potent art.
What's done is done, a change starts in the heart,
A change starts in the heart.
They can't contain their joy this very day,
They can't contain their joy this very day,
Behold, the joyous times have arrived, oh, so near,
The moon of joy now smiles, banishing fear.
The moon of joy now smiles.

Shankar Jaikishan's masterpiece. S-J blended mandolin with Indian melodic lilt and employed folk drums like dholak into the filmi mainstream so wonderfully. Amazing creative period in music making. That is why we hanker after the "old songs". Thanks Kalakar ji for your special selections.

It was from Kishore Sahu's "MayurPankh"! With such faster numbers SJ changed the image of Lataji! Two decades ago, HMV released a cassette of this film's audio along with KaliGhata which was also by SJ! It is amazing to note that this was a colour film( GevaColor?)!

S-J and Lata putting us in their thrall. This song and Muhabbat Ki Daastaan from Mayurpankh are two among many songs that I must listen to every week. Without them-- one joyful ,the other melancholy-- I feel the week incomplete. Thanks for the forward,kalakar67.
