Meenakshi is definitely the best technical dancer on the cinema screen,
ever. But She is not film-friendly. She doesn't emote as well as Jayaprada,
Bhanupriya, Rekha or even Sridevi (who is considerably less trained than
her) in front of a camera (her close-up shots are quite bleak). The problem
with classical dance is that it is so rigid and coded, that it is very much
different from film dancing (where acting is required). That could explain
why she never made it big, even in south india.

what geaceful dancer just like a apsara dancing in front of Indra. menakshi
was superb in actinf and dancing.she was boldand frank[these don;t work
bollywood]for this energetic number i will put behind padmini[she reminds

Meenakshi's dances were flawless. Never a wrong step, never slow nor out of rhythm. Simply supreme!! A joy to watch her dance. And unlike what others may believe, I find her very expressive. She emotes wonderfully to dance and music.
