No singer can be great unless the composition is. Singers, even Lata and
Rafi, are couriers of the creation of the lyricists and composer. Yes, they
can enhance a song to an extent.

Singers can certainly raise mediocre lyrics and music to a higher level.But

A medium composition made great by the voices of Suman and Rafi. Rafi was
perfect as usual. The voice of Suman was sweeter than Lata's. The composer
did not blend any high notes in this duet so neither Rafi nor Suman could
