Lyrics of Rum Jhum Barase Baadaravaa - रूम झूम बरसे बादरवा
rum jhum barse badarva, mast hawaye aayi
piya ghar aaja aaja, piya ghar aaja
rum jhum barse badarva, mast hawaye aayi
piya ghar aaja aaja, piya ghar aaja
kale kale badal ghir ghir aa gaye aa gaye
aise me tum jake julamva cha gaye, cha gaye
savan kaise bite re mai kaha tum kaha
ho more raja aaja, ho more raja
rum jhum barse badarva, mast hawaye aayi
piya ghar aaja aaja, piya ghar aaja
mujh birahan ke hal pe badal rote hai, rote hai
balam hamre ankh mund kar sote hai, sote hai
hamako nind na aaye re, yad sataye tori
mukh dikhalaja aaja, mukh dikhalaja
rum jhum barse badarva, mast hawaye aayi
piya ghar aaja aaja, piya ghar aaja
ka karu aiso se ulfat ho gai, ho gai
unke mast alst nain me kho gai, kho gai
pyase dono nainanava, pyasa joban mora
mori kasam aaja aaja, mori kasam aaja
ho rum jhum barse badarva, mast hawaye aayi
piya ghar aaja aaja, piya ghar aaja
piya ghar aaja aaja, piya ghar aaja
rum jhum barse badarva, mast hawaye aayi

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Rum Jhum Barase Baadaravaa - रूम झूम बरसे बादरवा
The clouds rumble, the rain descends, the wind, a lover's sigh,
Come home, my love, come home, my love, before the day goes by.
The clouds rumble, the rain descends, the wind, a lover's sigh,
Come home, my love, come home, my love, before the day goes by.
Dark, dark clouds gather, they gather and loom,
And in this darkness, you, my love, have cast your gloom.
How will the monsoon pass, when I'm here, you're away?
Oh, my king, come home, oh, my king, come home, today.
The clouds rumble, the rain descends, the wind, a lover's sigh,
Come home, my love, come home, my love, before the day goes by.
The clouds weep with me, for the pangs of our lonely plight,
While my beloved sleeps, his eyes closed to the fading light.
Sleep escapes me now, your memory, a burning brand,
Show your face to me, come home, show your face, understand.
The clouds rumble, the rain descends, the wind, a lover's sigh,
Come home, my love, come home, my love, before the day goes by.
What can I do, entangled in this love, this fate?
Lost am I in his intoxicating eyes, sealed by love's gate.
Thirsty are these eyes, and my youth, with longing deep,
By my vow, come home, come home, secrets to keep.
The clouds rumble, the rain descends, the wind, a lover's sigh,
Come home, my love, come home, my love, before the day goes by.
Come home, my love, come home, my love, before the day goes by.
The clouds rumble, the rain descends, the wind, a lover's sigh,
Come home, my love, come home, my love, before the day goes by.

The more I listen to this song all the more I want to listen it over and
over again. The magic of this song lies with two women. I cannot decide
whether I want to listen this song more because of Zorabai Amblewali or is
it because of Swaranlata who is very gracious in this song. Both are
equally good but one has got to have the edge over the other.Who is it?.

An excellent composition by Naushad Sahib and an excellent song. Swaranlata
is just too good in this song and that is her beauty. She is gorgeous and
has an excellent smile.Zorabai has done a most wonderful job in singing
this song.and Swaranlata has infused life in this song by her acting.I can
never forget this song.

I fully agree with Vinod Bhatia and may add that Zohrabai Ambalawali,s
voice and rythim are matchless, whereas beautiful faces and acting are well
available now a days.

These great compossers were blessed with great singers like
K.L.Sehgal,Rafi,Lata,Asha,Geeeta,Mannaday,talat,makesh and so on.These days
we r missing good compossers as well as good singers.Every thing is
artificial and commercial.
