Beautiful rendition in Raag Des .I was a child when this movie was
produced. Since 1955 , I must have seen it 20 times till date . Despite the
over stylized theatrical acting so typical of V. Shantaram's direction ,
the music and pure dance forms have made this movie memorable . There never
was and never will be another film like this.

best ever. Sandhya and Gopinath gave superb dances in the movie and Lataji
made Sandhya shine even more with her delicate, subtlety-filled classical
