Lyrics of Umido Ka Tara Kismat Pe - उम्मीदों का तारा
ummido ka tara
ummido ka tara kismat se kuch der chamak ke tut gaya tut gaya
ghar baar luta barbad hue saiyad chaman ko lut gaya lut gaya

jab tumhi nahi to dunia me jine ki khushi bhi koi nahi koi nahi
jab tumhi nahi to dunia me jine ki khushi bhi koi nahi koi nahi
ab aag lage ya barf gire
ab aag lage ya barf gire arman bhara dil tut gaya tut gaya
ummido ka tara kismat se kuch der chamak ke tut gaya tut gaya

aaram uthaye the jitne gum unse bhi jyada hamko mile
aaram uthaye the jitne gum unse bhi jyada hamko mile
najuk tha bahut chhala dil ka
najuk tha bahut chhala dil ka ek thesh lagi or fut gaya fut gaya
ummido ka tara kismat se kuch der chamak ke tut gaya tut gaya

maujo ki shikayat kya kije tufano ka shikwa kya kije
maujo ki shikayat kya kije tufano ka shikwa kya kije
majhdhar me aake
majhdhar me aake kashti ka khud
hath se langar chut gaya chut gaya
majdhar me aake kashti ka khud
hath se langar chut gaya chut gaya ummido ka tara
lyrics of song Umido Ka Tara Kismat Pe
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Umido Ka Tara Kismat Pe - उम्मीदों का तारा
A star of hope, a fragile gleam,
Flickered briefly, then shattered in a dream.
It fell, it fell.

Home, hearth, all stolen, ruined, bare,
The hunter plundered the garden's air.
It fell, it fell.

If you are gone, then joy has fled,
No happiness remains, the living dead.
No joy, no joy.

Now fire may rage, or ice descend,
The hopeful heart's embrace, its end.
It fell, it fell.

More sorrows came than comforts known,
More grief than any heart has shown.
We gathered, we gathered.

So delicate, the blistered core,
A single touch, and it poured.
It broke, it broke.

What words for waves? For tempests' wrath?
What pleas to stem their savage path?
No words, no words.

Midst the storm, the vessel's plight,
The anchor slipped from grasp, from light.
It slipped, it slipped.
A star of hope...

Surraiyaji had established his image in her own times but alas her fans are
no more in this world. I thinks this song is the most famous song of 1946
but was burried in oblivion and you made us available. Thank you so much.

Sajjad came up unique melodies. I think he loved the dadra and rupak tals.
Surraiya, of course has done more than justice to the composition. So
effortlessly sung. A not easy tune.
