That Vaishnava, they say, is one who knows,
The suffering of others, a river that flows.
Who offers solace, a hand reaching out,
Yet in their own heart, no pride to sprout.
That Vaishnava, they say, is one.

They honor all beings, a universal embrace,
Never speak ill, in any time or place.
With thoughts pure and steady, a spirit so free,
Blessed is the mother who bore such as he.
That Vaishnava, they say, is one.

With even eyes, and desires cast aside,
To other women, a mother's loving tide.
Untruth does not pass, from their tongue's gentle grace,
And another's wealth, they never would chase.
That Vaishnava, they say, is one.

By worldly illusion, they are never ensnared,
Firm detachment, within their heart declared.
When the name of Ram, a song starts to play,
All sacred places, within them today.
That Vaishnava, they say, is one.

Without greed's shadow, or deceit's sharp sting,
Passion and anger, their spirits bring
To a place of peace. Narsaiyo sings,
Seeing such a soul, seventy generations springs
To salvation's shore.
