Myriad scholars, and thousands wise.

God's ways, only God truly knows.

Come to this world, do the work you must,

If your intention is pure, then fear no end,
Where His grace casts its sight, where does it descend?

Watching, why do games begin to fall,
Watching, why do blooms begin to stall?
Why do gardens, filled with spring's embrace,
Wither, and their beauty misplace?
Loved with care, given your very blood,
From that same branch, the very flower is lost.
Does a cruel one dwell, does a cruel one dwell,
Robbing the oppressed's home, robbing the oppressed's home?
This, only Allah knows, this, only the Master knows,

If He wills it, the ill tide can turn aside,
If He wills it, the harsh fate can be defied.
If you trust in His essence, O servant, one day,
From the night's chest, the sun can appear to stay.
What does man truly know, what does man truly know,
Of his destination, of his destination?

In what guise, at what turn, might He appear,

That every bud of your hope might bloom and thrive?
In a heart's prayer, such power can survive,
That if He listens, mountains themselves will sway.
