is dharti ka dukh harne ko raja ko udhar diya
kaha tumhari puja se main is dharti par aaya hu
bhakto ki chha karne ka main vachan sath mein laya hu
kaha krishan ne sagar mein tairta hai ladki ka tukda
us tukde ko lao usme chhupa hua mera mukhda
raja gaya bhag lagre liya tairta tukda
socha ab ye door karega janm marn ka sab dukhda

puja kari sath rani ke tukde ko samma diya
tabhi vishvkarma ne kar bhakto ka kalyan kiya
raja rani ne uthkar ke kiya vishvkarma bandan
khel utha unke mukhde par jivan ka sukh abhinanadan
raja rani ne uthkar ne diya vishvkarma ke hath
lekar pahunche murti rachane nar ko nach nachte nath
baithe rachate murti nath ki bhakt waha par dhyan se
kaha tees din ke pichhe tum deep jalana maan se
idhar vishvkarma rachana ki sundar kala dikhate the

udhar maharani ke naina darshan ko the
tod diya rani ne dhiraj bita nahi mahina tha
hui anguthi puri lekin jadna abhi nagina tha
rani ne dhiraj ko tang kar khol diya mandir ka dwar
rahi adhuri murti chhodkar gaye vishvkarma shamshan
rahi kath ki murti adhuri rani ke agaan se
tribhujan ka klyan hua shiri jaganarth muskan se

Upon this soil, a sacred ground,
Where God and Man, in grace, are found.
Hearken, mortals, lend your ear,
To the tale of Chardham, draw near.

Here stands the temple, Jagannath's hold,
Where prayers are answered, stories told.
King Indradyumna, in fervent plea,
Through penance, brought forth serenity.
Where once the barren forest sighed,
With thorns transformed, and blooms supplied.
Krishna appeared, a radiant gleam,
To liberate the king's hopeful dream.

To ease the pain, the king's despair,
A sacred promise, he would share.
"From your devotion, I descend,
To ease your path, my grace to lend.
Upon the sea, a log shall roam,
Within it, lies my sacred home."
The king obeyed, the waters' might,
He retrieved the wood, with all his light.
He thought this touch would set him free
From life and death's decree.

With queen beside, in worship's art,
He honored wood, and blessed their heart.
Then Vishwakarma, in divine decree,
To bless his devotees, eternally.
The king and queen, with reverence deep,
To Vishwakarma, their vows to keep.
Joy bloomed upon their faces bright,
As life rejoiced in pure delight.
The king and queen, the wood they gave,
To Vishwakarma, their souls to save.
To carve the idols, the Lord would guide,
While mortals watched, with hearts inside.

He said, "For thirty days, await,
Then light the lamps, before the gate."
Vishwakarma, his art displayed,
Balabhadra, Subhadra, the forms he made.
The sacred forms, with tender hand,
While the queen's eyes, her soul did command.
Patience broken, the queen's desire,
Before the month, would she transpire.
The forms were near, but incomplete,
The gem unlaid, the task to meet.
The queen, her patience, she did break,
And opened the door, her solace to take.
The forms were left, unfinished, bare,
By her ignorance, beyond compare.
Yet, the world was blessed, the heavens smiled,
By Jagannath's grace, reconciled.
Upon this soil, a sacred ground,
Where God and Man, in grace, are found.
