I think Ram Sampath is drawing a lot of flak for no reason. Even though he
has proven that ancient Indian scriptures and hymns can still be molded to
fit present day mentalities.
magkasakai on September 02, 2013
Aruna Sairam is a Gem. If you remove the sona's part this is a gr8 version
of aigiri nadini. Not that Sona's part is bad but it just doesn't fit in
here. Rest of the guitar riffs , bass are amazing. And to all linguistic
extremists or fanactics I should say This is SANSKRUT.
Sriram Venkatesh on September 02, 2013
Sona spoilt the song! I never noticed Aruna Sairam's voice so closely. She
is awesome. This song would have been trillion times better if it was just
Aruna Sairam singing!
Ankur Bordoloi on September 02, 2013
this is awesome..
Alejandro Parra on September 02, 2013
thank you so much :)

Hi Alejendro! Good to hear that you have liked it. Its actually a 'stotram'
(some special set of Sanskrit chants), like a poem, that sings the
different forms of the Goddess, Her names, Her powerful deeds to vanquish
the demonic entity called Mahishasura and similar evil powers! However, in
this piece only the first paragraph of the chant is sung 'Aigiri
Nandini.'.! I am sending you a link where you will find the full stotram
and its english meanings! Hope you will enjoy it!

The song would have sounded a lot better without Sona Mohapatra and just
the strong version from Aruna Sairam

strange combination
saurabh agnihotri on September 08, 2013
For me, it is more spiritual than religious. I must say that fusing
something like 'Aigiri Nandini' with 'Thaiya Thaiya' was not the best of
the combinations... It was like being served with tea after you have had
amazing chocolate ice-cream. Both of these songs operate at very different
spiritual energy levels. both of the songs are great in their own rights
but I felt like I climbed up to a high hill and then suddenly fell down a
steep cliff.
desigulal on September 09, 2013
This is so embarassing. Isn't this a centuries old composition on goddess
durga ? Difficult to believe Aruna sairam consented to this atrocity by ram
sampath.
Nisarg Mankad on September 10, 2013
dude its calling going off beat !! its a creative thing !!
Amarnath Vangara on September 11, 2013
Ayinigiri nandini and tere ishq nachaya are well composed and are good when
heard as different compositions...no synch certainly..
Shankar K on September 12, 2013
Not a good blend of both songs. just felt hearing 2 songs in a row.
Arun Vikraman on September 12, 2013
Too good . Such compositions of blending traditional music and western are
awesome . Looking forward for more of this kind .

Search for: Shadjaw Arise and Kill [strawberry fields] and check out the

watch?v=CRSzc9KTMPA ok, here's the youtube extension, copy paste & enjoy!!!!
Shriniwas Rao on September 15, 2013
Well, first of all.. Not a good blend. I'm not opposed to good fusion...
I'm not spiritual either. Purely in terms of what this clip offers... Its
seriously unimpressive. Who ever has collaborated needs to grow up. Very
very unimaginative and smacks of serious lack of understanding. Cheers
Nikhil Mohankrishnan on September 16, 2013
Agree with most posters on the comments section...the take off was
incredible but all the energy created by Shri Aruna Sairam waslost when
they transitioned ...this just makes a jumbled mess of things..the songs
have no connectivity in terms of aesthetics... fusion isn't just mixing two
songs it also has a lot do with espousing some creative thought or
concept...better luck next time Ram Sampath...love your work...
Sushmita on September 17, 2013
Well, true it's heavier.. but Aruna Sairam's vocals are way superior. (I
guess that goes without saying). Nonetheless, thanks for sharing the link.

Wow! So horrible!
sunny Rajkarnikar on September 17, 2013
i liked this song until Sona's part started, no offence, she's a wonderful
singer, but something about the song beyond that point just wasn't upto how
it was before the point. anyway, cheers to music
Isha Priya Singh on September 18, 2013
Sona was not needed in this song, a tribute to Devi has nothing to do with
sufi, the concepts don't blend well. Sona has sung Piya se naina so well, I
don't know why she is so dull in this song.
Rakesh c on September 18, 2013
With this remarkable episode named Eyes of Devi... Sampath Outdid himself!!

Sachhidanand Manjhi on September 20, 2013
Did Sona Mahapatra ruined it? No! It's Ram Sampath. (-_-)

Jatin Maharao on September 22, 2013
Music wise the two match to a certain extent but mood wise they don't fit
together at all. The shloka has a certain power which melows down due to
the soft mood of tere ishq nachaya.
Ravi Sathe on September 23, 2013
Classic example of how a particular mood, devotional in this case, is
ruined in pursuing fusion.leads only to confusion.
Jatin Maharao on September 23, 2013
The music is good, but the lead singer doesnt have a lot of power in his
voice. but it can be due to the recording quality.
Ven Mic on September 24, 2013
fantastic..

Oil and Water - Arunaji and Sona Mahapatra
SETU GUPTA on September 28, 2013
I personally liked the fusion part. People with one track mindset can't
ever take fusion in any form. This is an example how you can reach to a
wider audience sticking to traditions. Those people already deep rooted in
tradition can not appreciate it,
Vipin Singh on September 29, 2013
Nirdosh finally in Coke studio.. Hez the guy wid talent !!!
pankaj vaghela on October 02, 2013
no words to write about this out of the world performance by Aruna Sairam
ji .
shivaram krishnan on October 04, 2013
Dont murder please. Bhakti is gone from this song. Its not because of
instruments used. Or anything of that sort. It is just the mixing and the
choice of instruments is horrible, no bhakti for saraswati then how will
aigiri nandini bless?
Prabir Acharya on October 08, 2013
its completely disgusting to see musicians are bringing rock in to
spirituality. It should be criticized and shouldn't be entertained at any
cost.
Prasanna CR on October 08, 2013
The transition at 1:25 could have been better... not seamless..
sugam goel on October 09, 2013
Awesome..Music & song>>really making me enthusiastic
Jayant rao on October 12, 2013
The only problem is with Sona mahapatras song.
Arco Chakraborty on October 12, 2013
ohh man wht a waste !! terrible fusion
shashwat naidu on October 12, 2013
I really wish there's a longer solo version of Aruna Ji's rendition with
the same version. It leaves me wanting for more !
