What a contrast to Suraiya's version from 'Mirza Ghalib' (1954), Jagjit and
Chitra Singh's version, Asha Bhosle's 1989 version, and especially Khan
Mastana's version from 'Hunterwali Ki Beti' (1943). Such is the talent of
Ghalib that no matter how anyone renders his poetry, you can never go
wrong. My particular favorite is Khan Mastana's, though.
