Have you even seen the movie? At one point she decides to get engaged to
the man her father picks for her rather than be with the man she loves.
Obviously its not exactly like the Punjab, cuz if it was the movie would
have been called Heer or Sahiba. Btw her being British has nothing to do
with the lyrics of the song, which is what I was explaining.
