There is a fourth singer too. Bhupinder - for whom this was his first song.
You can also see him in the movie (he plays one of the soldiers). After the
opening, Bhupinder is the first voice in the main song - it is said that
the great singers like Rafi, Talat and Manna Dey allowed him to lead since
it was his first song. Where do we find such magnanimity in the me-too
world of today. And to answer your question, unfortunately (or shall we say
fortunately) such singers like may not come again.

kaul was not the army chief during 62 war. Thapar was the army chief. This
movie is based on battle of chusul in ladakh (kashmir) while kaul was a
corps commander in kameng (arunachal pradesh)

Madan Mohan disovered Bhupinder from AIR Delhi and brought him for this
movie. He actually acted in this movie, you can see him in this song. To my
best recollection, this is the only song sung by 4 of the best ghazal
singers, of course, created by the ghazal king, Madan Mohan. The musical
arrangment is exquisite and hair raising. I also get tears of delight of
brilliantly these great singers have sung together. Madan Mohan always
demanded excellence and got it...
