Guru Dutt made a perfect choice in picking Waheeda for this role. And what
a partnership it developed into, I mean in movie-making. I am still puzzled
about what truly led to his untimely death. However it is true that Guru
Dutt movies became more and more melancholy as his clinical depression got
worsened.
