Thanks a lot Bhuvanesh saab.
theresaadmirer on May 06, 2008
It can't be Ustad Amir Khan, the taans are very different from Amir
Khansahib's.
manashard on May 09, 2008
In Rafi and Naushad sahab's magic the art in the form of dance and act is unusually suppressed in this song, but I am sure it would have lacked some soul if it wasnt for dilip kumar and the dancer
qalanderi on May 15, 2008
HEY boiragirules you wanted help with which raag this song has been

crazytrini2893 on July 29, 2008
wah wah!!!!!!
davina212 on August 03, 2008
he is talkin about radhika (radha) dancing. krishna is playing his flute
and radha is dancing. she is dancing with bells around her feet, a veil on
her face and kohl in her eyes. the rest of it isn't words but vocals
(alaap) and instrumental
Dipti Kane on August 03, 2008
just one piece of information on the song. Dilip Saab had actually learnt
how to play sitar to enact the concludind sitar piece. Just excellent
piece. Naushad-Rafi-Dilip saab trio ruled the filmdom those years.
GUYANAhalfbreed on August 04, 2008

Elenia25 on August 11, 2008
But basically he is saying: "Radha dances in the garden While Krishna's
flute plays Anklets on her feet A veil across her face Her eyes darkened by
eyeliner"
Mysterious989 on August 12, 2008
Wow! Simply fabulous! Naushad sahab's Music & Rafi sahab's voice are amazing. & Dilip Kumar acting is so flawless, it looks like he himself is singing this.
5thquad on August 22, 2008
I can get the audio from this video and upload it as an mp3. If you want it
send me a message.
RatRaceAce on September 05, 2008
Just for the record: The last sitar piece is quite obviously not really
played by Dilip Kumar. Anyone who plays the sitar can see that both the
left hand work on the frets and the right hand plucking are completely
unrelated to the song at every point. However, still a great song.
RatRaceAce on September 05, 2008
What a masterpiece! A magnificent union of lyricist, music writer, music
director, singer, actors, all coming together to give us this eternally
delectable treat for both ears and eyes! The song just radiates happiness,
and Dilip Kumar's charisma simply gushes out through the screen.
Indranil Mukherjee on September 08, 2008
The taan in between is done by Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab..

Kya Kamaal Gaana hai acha ganna hai kyu ki ya mahaphil me ek bhoot hai jo Madhubala ka chaba chaba ka joyoongi. Kintu Radhay Krishna Iska Saat hai To yeh to ek acha ganna hai.

Classic song, love this song tooo much.
Urdumetro on December 07, 2008
The great Yousuf Khan (Dilip Kumar) kept listening this song for almost six
months before getting it picturised. He also learned how to play Sitaar
just to be more real for these shots. This was revealed by Naushad Ali in
his interview in BBC TV's program Movie Mahal that was on air in 80's
kadarkhanchacha on December 25, 2008
Wah wah Naushadji, Rafisahab and Dilip Kumarji
csjadore01 on December 26, 2008
A classic example of 'Art has no boundaries' where a bhajan is performed by Rafi, Naushad and Dilip sahab. Great talent!!! To my knowledge this is one of the finest bhajan bollywood ever had.
sid1psp on January 03, 2009
This song can be the No.1 bollywood song for all time
Rajan Ahmad on January 09, 2009
Legends are created in this movie, Naushad Ali, Yousuf Khan (Dilipji..his
screen name..has absolute dedication to art..learns to play Sitaar in a
short few months. La jawab..Indian.

I wish there were english subtitles so I could understand what they were saying at the end of the song. Was the mongoose attacking the snake a good thing or a bad thing? Aren't snakes sacred in India? Something about drinking from a cows udder? Or am I completely confused?

(I watch a lot of badly dubbed Bollywood movies, so I have no idea, really...)

I wish they had focused more on the lady's dancing, rather than the guy, as she was absolutely wonderful at it.
tony frank De' S on January 16, 2009
Kum Kum was a good dancer.

That's the power of Indian secularism at full display !

This is the best song since i have ever heard. Best Singer, Best Actor, Best Dancer.
Jitaditya Narzary on February 15, 2009
don't bother about urban legends that is prevalent in the west...as far as
this scene is concerned they were happy as his life was saved by the
mongoose... Translating the song will be difficult...bad translation will
ruin it as you can understand...we need a more capable person for it...
RatRaceAce on February 18, 2009
Okay, regarding the conversation after the snake incident, Im posting the
rough translation in three parts: Part 1 of 3: Looks like some bad guys
released the snake to kill this Prince, but the mongoose saved his life
(you can see those guys leaving the hall after that). The women of the
court perform an auspicious ritual by waving those things around the Prince
to get rid of the "evil eye". The Queen says: "My son! God saved your life.
It's like my son has received a second life."
RatRaceAce on February 18, 2009
Part 2 of 3: The King tells the Prince: "All this was caused by your
carelessness, Prince. You have no right to play with your life. It is my
wish that you do not not leave the palace at night". The Prince replies:
"If Death wishes to enter, he can do so even through the four walls of a
palace." The other young man (his brother?) enters and says angrily, "I
cannot figure out which ungrateful wretch has ill-will towards our Prince.
The Prince says, "Surinder, that is not anger, but greed..."

Dilip Kumar is the best!!
ambindia on March 16, 2009
the funniest part of the song is that mohammad rafi lends his voice to
dilip kumar and ustad NIYAZ AHMED KHAN,sings the comic interlude.some
commentary on indian classical music!
anujaluvsindia on March 17, 2009
Mohamed Rafi at his best in this song .. and it is very pleasing to see the youthful face of Dilip Kumar too . but how can we forget the master music composer Naushad who was the first one to utilize Rafi's talents and made him a highly acclaimed singer after his evergreen music from Baiju Bawra.
zfk110 on March 20, 2009
Mohd Rafi was honored with the "best singer of the millennium" by Hero
Honda and Stardust magazine in Mumbai on Jan 7, 2001.

Beatiful song. Jai Sri Radhe!
AksheeShadow on April 14, 2009
Yeah and its gonna be like this always. Even now AR rehman composed the man
mohanna song for Akbar jodha. allah ke bande sung by kailash kher :D
raqib56 on April 16, 2009
some of the comments are shameful
converting music into a religious bordel,
they don't know what is been played, their
ears only want the religious origins of the
music, as if the music never existed before their damned Radha & krishna !
who only exist in imagination of some
intoxicated small Brahmas on this planet
sent by someone they don't even know,
to creat India just to burn Dalits and shudars and minorities regularly as their
religious ritual (F.ing)
